Christy Snoddy and Rita Corwin

Rita and Christy have been jointly producing and directing the Mrs. Alaska America pageant for the past 21 years.  Their goal, to provide the best experience for Alaska's married woman possible. 

Rita Corwin - Executive Director

As Executive Director Rita has more than 30 years of pageant experience. Rita recently had the honor of being named MRS. AMERICA PAGEANT DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR during the 2010 Mrs. America Pageant.  Rita has had 5 National Winner's as a Director, Mrs. Alaska America 2012, Vicki Sarber, Miss American Teen 1992, Kristina Bellamy, Miss American Coed 1996, Shara Crandall, Beauties of America 30's Division and Beauties of America 60's Division and several Top 5 Winner's Circle.

Successful pageants under her direction have been Miss Anchorage, Miss Fur Rendezvous Pageant and the Miss Alaska America Scholarship Program.  Over $500,000 in awards, prizes and scholarships have been distributed under her direction.

Rita is past Executive Director of the Miss Alaska High School and Collegiate Scholarship Pageant, a preliminary to the Miss High
School America and Miss Collegiate America Pageant.  One of the Top 3 pageants for young women in America. 

 

Her experience also includes producing the Alaska Teen expo, fashion and talent shows, pageant/modeling coaching and inspirational speaker.  She is a former "Mrs. Alaska of the Year" and "Mrs. Alaska United Nations" where she placed in the "Top 10" at the National Competition.

Rita is also the television spokesperson for Granite City, Alaska.  The premiere counter top company in Alaska.

 

Christy Snoddy -Co-Director

 

Award Winning Choreographer Christy has been part of the pageant world when she and her mother, Rita Corwin won Alaska's Mother/Daughter USA Pageant.

 

A former Miss Alaska American Coed titleholder, Christy placed in the "Top 10" at her National Competition held in Honolulu, Hawaii.  She has competed in multiple modeling and talent competitions throughout the country and was named "America's Top Swimsuit Model" with the International Model and Talent Competition.  She has choreographed for over 20 years and has been featured in several local radio and television commercials. 


Christy has performed since the age of 15 with former talent group "Jay King Enterprises" and "Triple Threat".  She's taught dance and modern jazz throughout the Anchorage School District.  

A noted singer, Christy has performed throughout the country.  She is a graduate of the Alaska Pacific University and has a BA in Marketing and Business.  In addition to her community and pageant involvement Christy works in the medical field.  She is the proud mom of two sons, Corwin and Darien and wife of high school sweetheart Amos Snoddy.
