Saturday evening, May 6, 2023 the stage at Bartlett High School Auditorium in Anchorage was packed with friends and family members as women from across Alaska competed for the title of Mrs. Alaska America AND the Miss Alaska For America. 

 

The ultimate prize and title of Mrs. Alaska America 2023 went to

 

Our newly crowned Mrs. Alaska America is CHELSEA BURKE from Eagle River, wife of Adam Burke and mom of 4. As parents of a child with a disability, Chelsea is passionate about sharing a message of inclusion. Her platform, Champions for Inclusion, is inspired by her own journey being her son’s voice and now advocates through social media, volunteering, and community outreach educating others that even small acts can make a big impact.

 

Our newly crowned Mrs. Alaska AmeriCAN is ALISON MCCULLOUGH from Talkeetna. She is married to Sam McCullough and mom of 1. Alison along with Sam are owners of Adventure Cottage and McCullough Excavating. She grew up personally experiencing food insecurity, and watched people suffer and has taken her perspective to write and illustrate a children’s book titled, “A Place at the Table.” All book proceeds are donated to benefit charitable food organizations.

 

Our new Miss Alaska for America is VERONICA CORTEZ from Anchorage.  Veronica is a graduating senior from Dimond High School and is Spa Consultant at Planet Beach. She plans to ignite women to tap into their inner confidence and push them forward toward their goals. She aspires to create a collaboration of women that can help their community for their cause.

 

They will be on their way to the Mrs. America Pageant and Miss for America Pageant at the annual National Competition in August in Las Vegas.  Additionally, they will be making personal appearances throughout Alaska during her year’s reign.

The pageant also recognizes the accomplishments of the contestants in several other areas.
